Wanda Moore


Wanda Moore is a New Jersey Assistant Attorney General and serves as the Director of the Office of Community Justice. The office focuses on strengthening community police partnerships through positive youth development and system wide change. Ms. Moore spearheads the implementation of community-based crime prevention strategies to reduce truancy, delinquency and violence. She leads cutting-edge, place based solutions work through the execution of youth development boards in several cities in New Jersey including Trenton, Camden and Newark. 

Prior to working for the Attorney General, Ms. Moore served as Director of Prisoner Re-Entry for the City of Newark, where she orchestrated the development of the Newark Prisoner Reentry Initiative, a key strategy of inclusion for former Mayor, now Senator Cory Booker. The Newark Reentry Office has received national recognition including a recent visit by President Obama. 

She is the Past-President and a founding member of the Thurgood Marshall Action Coalition, a national organization of Drug Court professionals committed to ensuring access to drug courts and framing critical research questions for evidence-based treatment options for people of color. She has trained extensively on cultural competence to therapeutic jurisprudence. She holds a BA from Brown University, a JD from Northeastern University School of Law and a M.Ed. form Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass.
