Description | Extreme weather events and natural disasters have the potential to increase housing instability and eviction rates in impacted communities. Housing courts can plan and prepare for the future, adopting lessons learned from the successful eviction diversion programs established in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Courts have a crucial role to play in sharing information and connecting community members with resources, a role that is even more imperative during periods of extreme weather. As courts plan for the future, they should develop housing courts that will allow them to best operate and serve their communities in a changing climate. Speakers:
